At Quality Academy, we have helped alot of students achieve professional qualifications, including those accredited by NEBOSH - it's what we do, and we really are the experts.

We offer a wide range of NEBOSH courses, all carefully designed to meet the specific needs of the relevant NEBOSH syllabus. Our courses are developed by experienced NEBOSH trainers (many of whom are also NEBOSH examiners), who work closely with highly trained educational editors. If you are looking for training for your organisation, we can also tailor our courses to suit your specific requirements.

These qualifications are widely taken as a first step towards a career in health and safety and are accepted by IOSH – the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – in meeting the academic requirements for Technician Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH).

What is the difference between Vocationally-Related Qualifications (VRQ) and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)?
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are work-related, competence based qualifications that reflect the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively.  These qualifications are delivered in the workplace or other settings that replicate the working environment.  Rather than undertaking a prescribed learning programme and formal examinations, NVQ candidates build up a portfolio of workplace-based evidence.

For a description of Vocationally-Related Qualifications (VRQ) see previous question: What is a Vocationally-Related Qualification (VRQ)?
NEBOSH offers VRQs that combine the testing of knowledge and understanding in written examinations with practical application of learning in the workplace.

What Qualifications do I need to be a NEBOSH Instructor?
NEBOSH needs to be satisfied that the course provider has a teaching team comprising people with adequate qualifications and experience in the technical areas covered by the relevant syllabus.  Although there is an expectation that tutors will hold a qualification at a level above that which is being taught, tutors who hold a qualification equal to the one that they will tutor on and are able to demonstrate suitable competence or have specialist subject expertise would be approved as part of a teaching team.

A tutorial team will comprise a course leader/lead tutor who is likely to be a Member of an appropriate professional body such as the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CFIOSH, CMIOSH, Grad IOSH or equivalent), Institution of Fire Engineers (FIFireE, MIFireE, AIFireE) or other relevant body.

In accrediting programmes, NEBOSH considers the balance of expertise within tutorial teams; accreditation does not imply that any tutor is individually approved or accredited by NEBOSH.
