The IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt™ (ICGB™) is a professional who is well versed in the core to advanced elements of Lean Six Sigma Methodology, who leads improvement projects and / or serves as a team member as a part of more complex improvement projects lead by a Certified Black Belt, typically in a part-time role. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt possesses a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma Method including competence in subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) as defined by the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge™. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt understands how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma at a high level of proficiency.

The IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Exam™ is a 100 question, closed book, proctored exam with a 3 hour allotted time. The Exam contains approximately 20 multiple-choice and true/false questions from each major section of the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge.
 
In order to achieve the professional designation of IASSC Certified Green Belt (IASSC-CGB™) from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification, candidates must sit for the IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Exam and achieve a minimum score of 385 points out of a total potential of 500 points.
Upon successful achievement, Professionals will receive IASSC Green Belt Certification issued by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification™, the only independent third-party Certification Association within the Lean Six Sigma Industry.
 
IASSC Certification is recognized perpetually. In accordance with the IASSC Recertification Policy, effective March 1, 2017, a classification system recognizes certifications as “Current” for a period of three years and defines regulations for maintaining such Status.
 
An IASSC Certified Green Belt is issued a Certificate (Electronic or Hard Copy) along with a Certification Number, added to the Official IASSC Certification Register and granted the right to use the IASSC Certification Marks and Titles; as professional designation which may be used in resumes and public profiles such as LinkedIn, consistent with the IASSC Marks Use Policy.

IASSC Recertification Green Belt Exam is a 50 question, closed book, proctored exam with a 1.5 hour allotted time. The Exam contains approximately 10 multiple-choice and true/false questions from each major section of the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge. In order to successfully achieve Recertification Professionals must achieve a minimum score point equivalency of 70%. Recertification Fee: $ 175.

Recertification Exams must be conducted prior to the date of Elapse or no longer than 90 days after an Elapsed status has been applied to the Certification. Professionals who fail to complete the Recertification Exam within this time frame are eligible to re-establish their Current status but will be required to successfully complete a standard IASSC Certification Exam no later than one year from the date of Elapsed status. Upon successful completion, a retro-active certification status of Current will be applied to the Certification.
